Psalm 68.5 is a promise I cling to, too. Thanks for sharing, Bryan. May God bless you on your journey!

Barrett,

Thank you so much for your comment. Though we've only had little interaction, and that only through comments and so forth, I am greatly appreciative of you and the encouragement that you never fail to bring when we do interact. Thanks you so much.

Bryan,
I can sympathize with you over what you are going through. My parents are still married, but my mom has always been the stronger of the two. Growing up charismatic and egalitarian, I have only in the past few years known the sovereignty of God and his plan for marriage through the roles of men and women. As a 23 year old husband of 2.5 years, I struggle daily on how to be the man in my household. And God's call to being the man is so different than the majority of what you hear today. It means washing feet and dying to self for your wife. "Recovering" is sitting on my shelf, thanks to the June $5 book sale, but I haven't read it yet. Perhaps you have given me the incentive (or should I say I'm sponging off the incentive Alex gave you).

As you read through it and wrestle with it, know that you are not the only young man wrestling against a lifetime of upbringing in the opposite direction.

Thanks brother.

I had been meaning to start reading "Recovering..." but hadn't yet, so in a way you did spur it by putting the idea in my head to finally pick it up. Of course, I already held my view before reading it :)

And if you had anything to do with this particular subject, that wouldn't be a bad thing ;)
