Say What?

“Well, first of all, I believe in an almighty God, and I believe that all the world, whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God. That’s what I believe.”

“See, I believe there is a universal God. I believe the God that the Muslim prays to is the same God that I pray to. After all, we all came from Abraham. I believe in that universality.”

-President George W. Bush, in an interview found here [whitehouse.gov] with Al Arabiya

Sad Stuff. Maybe he should read 1 John 2:22-23, or John 8:39-44.

Joh 14:1 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
Joh 14:2 “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
Joh 14:3 “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
Joh 14:4 “And you know the way where I am going.”
Joh 14:5+ Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?”
Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, Philip *said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”
Jesus *said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
“Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.
“Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.
