About

Welcome to ἀκολουθῶ Χριστῷ!

ἀκολουθῶ Χριστῷ
ἀκολουθῶ Χριστῷ is a Greek phrase that means “I follow Christ” or “I am a disciple of Christ.” The implication, I hope, is obvious.

Purpose
This blog exists for several reasons: 1) to record the things I am learning (and sometimes relearning!) through Scripture, 2) to explore the Scripture as God’s authoritative word for your information, 3)to provide links, information, and resources on the reformed faith and cultural commentary, and 4) for the praise and the glory and the enjoyment of God. This blog is committed to the absolute sovereignty of God, the pursuit of His glory, and the five solas of the reformation.

It is my sincere and deepest desire that this blog would glorify God in all that it does. I pray that it would be used so that we all grow closer to God and rejoice in His supremacy in all things, through the writing, reading and interaction this blog can provide.

About Me
My name is Bryan Lilly, and I am 24 years old. I recently graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Resources and I am doing my graduate work at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where I am pursuing an M.Div in Christian Ministry.

In terms of theology I am reformed, though I hold a Baptist view of baptism. In terms of eschatology I am a historic preterist (also known as “partial preterism”) and amillennial. For more of my theological distinctives, please see my “statement of faith” page, which is linked above.

Posting Guidlines
I only have a few rules for posting.
1. A name and email (which is not published) is required.
2. Use your real name and a real email (no anonymous posting)
3. Keep comments on topic.
4. No profanity.
5. No trolling.

All comments will be held in queue until I approve them. I have the right to delete any comment, though a view of comments left on this blog will show that I do not abuse this privilege. I may or may not respond to comments left, and generally do not debate in the comments. If you disagree with what I say or what other commentors have said, feel free to voice your opinions, but do so courteously. Remember, the idea here is edification not cutting down. Anonymous comments will not be allowed, so please post your actual name and email. You may use a first initial or last initial if you are uncomfortable with using your whole name, or even just a first name. That being said, feel free to comment! I greatly enjoy the feedback and fellowship it provides.
